Website Development Project

This project is funded by the Awards For All, Big Lottery Fund.
After extensive research among service users, mental health professionals, careers and the members of the public, the management of iBUG developed the plan for this project and successfully applied for funding to Awards For All.
The structure and the management of the Website Development Project reflect the ethos of the organisation: our projects are for service users, run by services users.
The Project is run and managed in three phases.

The Progression Plan for the project:

Progression Plan

We asked Community Views, an organisation based at St James's House supporting people with mental health problems to design the website for us. This is the first phase.

The second phase is to recruit volunteers to participate in our training programme to learn how to maintain and develop the website. The training programme started in September 2009. You can still enrol if you are interested by contacting us. Participants do not have to have any previous experiences using computers. The one to one training sessions are designed to start learning from the basics. However, participants will be assessed before enrolling to the course and modules will be built up according to the knowledge, skills and experiences of each individual summarised in the individual development plans.

The third phase of the project is the Maintenance and Development Programme.

Volunteers will be divided into groups and will be responsible for different parts of the website to maintain and to develop including: uploading documents, publishing comments, updating news and archiving.

Volunteers can become participants during all the three stages as all training is focused on individual needs so everyone can progress according to their own knowledge and abilities.
